This Sign Being Lit, Means Get Your Donut On

We finally have Krispy Kreme in Maine! But absolutely nowhere near Bangor despite an age old Bangor Daily article. However here in Kissimmee (which we should start calling Bangor South) there’s plenty of them. If you aren’t familiar with Krispy Kreme donuts, let me explain the basics. It’s the donut form of drugs.
These are melt in your mouth morsels that you should consume at a diabetic inducing rate when they are hot.
At most (maybe all?) the locations they actually fry & glaze the donuts on site, with a giant donut making machine that you can view. When the machine is running, they light up the “Hot Now Original Glazed” neon light. This means the donuts are literally taken off the conveyor and put into your donut
hole box. Don’t buy one donut. You’ll be disappointed. These are melt in your mouth morsels that you should consume at a diabetic inducing rate when they are hot. Once they cool off, they lose half their luster, but are still on par with Dunkin or Tim Hortons Good. When they are hot however, they are the best donut available.
So this is a “Broke in Orlando” article. Yes, because these donuts are only about $1 each. So all in with coffee, and a dozen donuts, we are talking a $15 dollar breakfast for 2 Adults and 4 kids. Yes I give my kids donuts for breakfast. Two each, with extra gluten and sugar glaze, I’d run my kids pacifier under that glazer if they’d let me. I love this place.
I know I can’t have the entire donut machine in my house, but I can fit the glazer. I’d glaze everything; kids peanut butter & jelly sandwiches? Glazed. Banana’s? Glazed. Baby Pacifier? Glazed. No matter what, you’ll have a great time here at Krispy Kreme, and who knows, maybe we can convince someone to open a store in Bangor.
